Iraqi's Standing UP! BushCo refuses to Stand DOWN!
Thu Aug 21, 2008 at 06:24:08 AM PDT
Remember this? Presnit-wit Bush and all his neo-con buddies saying over, and over, and over and over, and, you get the picture...
"When the Iraqi's can stand up, we will stand down. There will be no timetables!"
If I heard that once from someone in the Bush Administration or their "media" contingent, I heard it five thousand times. So, what happens when the Iraqi's stand UP faster than Bushie and the boyz want them to? Bushie continues to try to stand ON them to keep them down.
Being "C" List-er's Causes Conservative Envy
Tue Aug 19, 2008 at 05:29:57 AM PDT
Kool kids.
Hate 'em!
In crowd.
Hate 'em!
Jocks and Singers and Stars! Oh My!
The "C" listed humans we know as conservatives and especially Fox News 20 %'ers are really having a total meltdown over the fact that the Entertainment Industry not only produces RICH PEOPLE, but RICH PEOPLE that don't typically agree with their konservative RICH PEOPLE agenda.
Bottom line? The Kool People don't like Konservatives.
Konservatives are Jealous. Take away the J-E-A and you end up with "LOUS". Add an "E" and you get an apt description of the Konservative Kids that we are currently having to endure.
Oh, barf! McCain "the US needs an Economic "Surge"
Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 06:59:18 AM PDT
OK, I knew when I ate that big piece of melon and then washed it down with a Kiwi this morning that I probably shouldn’t go looking at the "NEWS" around the world right away.
Something might catch my eye that would make me feel queasy with all that just eaten fruit floating around in my stomach. Something like more FREE MEDICAL CLINIC’s being set up in the United States of America, or perhaps George Bush or Dick Cheney said something, anything for that matter when it comes to those two asshats.
Did I listen to my own Reason? OH, NO! I just went ahead and clicked on BBC.CO.UK. Well, there were some interesting stories out there, for sure, but nothing of the stomach-upsetting kind of journalism or statements by idiots. I was feeling kind of cocky at this point, so I clicked on CNN.COM.

Doctors WITHIN our Borders. Health Care Shame
Tue Aug 05, 2008 at 11:41:17 AM PDT
When we discuss health care in the United States of America today, it is simply a continuation of the same old story of the HAVES and the HAVE NOTS. So many people are without health care in the richest country on this planet that when free health care clinics are set up WITHIN the United States, people come from far and wide to be seen by Doctors and Dentists, as for many this is their only opportunity to receive some small amount of care for themselves and their children.
It is and should be A National Shame.

Republican Party to Surrender in North Carolina!
Fri Aug 01, 2008 at 12:35:29 PM PDT
Hello, Republicans? This is what is happening to YOUR brand! Yes, in a supposed Red State near YOU!
In the State of North Carolina, the times, they are a-changin' when it comes to the Red State / Blue State mentality. Sure, North Carolina is mostly a Democratic State when talking local elections.
The North Carolina State Senate and State House are controlled by Democrats and there are even a majority of U.S. House of Representatives that belong to the Democratic Party, as well as the Governorship. Yet, North Carolina currently has two Republican Senators and on a national level has not had a majority that voted for a Democratic Candidate since Jimmy Carter.
As I said above, the times, they are a-changin'.
AMERICAN HORROR STORY (non-fiction)
Thu Jul 24, 2008 at 06:42:32 AM PDT
Forty-seven MILLION Americans currently have absolutely NO health insurance coverage. Of that forty-seven Million Americans, two-thirds of those without health insurance are poor or near poor, and there are obvious disparities in how different racial and ethnic groups are affected. Only 13 percent of non-Hispanic white Americans is uninsured, compared with 36 percent of Hispanics, 33 percent of Native Americans, 22 percent of blacks and 17 percent of Asians/Pacific Islanders.
Our politicians understand this in terms that they can get their arms around. If lack of health insurance was something the majority of white middle class voters were screaming about, both conservatives and liberals would throw their lots together and find a way to come together and solve this issue. Yet at this very moment in time, that is not the case. Not to mention, the Insurance Corporations have quite a lobby on K Street and that lobby is paying our politicians very, very well to keep things as close to the status quo as is humanly possible.
Insurance Front Group Meeting met with Skepticism
Wed Jul 23, 2008 at 05:58:33 AM PDT
The Insurance Corporation's front group, America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) kicked off their national campaign yesterday in Columbus, OH in an hour long meeting that was open to the public, as part of their "listening tour" that will be ongoing across the U.S. in the coming months. For myself, I affectionately call it the "AHIP Lie to America Tour."
I'm not sure how much LISTENING one can do to the public in an hour long meeting where the members of AHIP do most of the talking, and by talking I mean talking around the hard questions asked by the members of the audience. Listen to some audio of a question asked and not really answered at the following link:

Americans don't need Medical Insurance
Mon Jul 21, 2008 at 07:32:47 AM PDT
They Need Healthcare for all Guaranteed!
have Medical Insurance that I purchase through the company I currently work for. It is very expensive and the coverage is at best, spotty and underwhelming. I had a Doctor tell me that I needed to see a specialist last year regarding a health issue I was going through. By the time I got the bills from the "Specialist" and the other places he sent me for tests, etc., I was over my head in deductibles, plan paid maximums for tests and the "Specialist" himself and various other line item expenses that had to be paid by myself.
They had me set up to go through a number of other tests and see a few other "special" groups to bring about a change for the better in my condition, and I did the one thing that I didn't want to do, but could only afford to do.

Insurance Companies Ready for Battle over Profits
Fri Jul 18, 2008 at 07:43:27 AM PDT
The insurance industry in the United States of America is actively recruiting and hiring and training LOBBYISTS in huge numbers to ready themselves for the shit-storm that the American people and HOPEFULLY their elected Representatives are about to lay down on them in the very near future.
As we are all well aware, medical insurance and the FOR PROFIT Insurance Corporations in the U.S. are out of control. Millions of citizens are not insured at all, most citizens that do have some sort of medical insurance are under-insured and the sky-rocketing costs of medical insurance are becoming more and more prohibitive for the average American worker. Add to that fact that employer based medical insurance is where most Americans recieve their insurance package and then consider the rising unemployment issue in this country, and things can only go from horrible to completely unacceptable.
US slips downward on human development index
Thu Jul 17, 2008 at 09:33:00 AM PDT
I ran across this story this morning on BBC News. The story revolves around a study conducted by the Rockefeller Foundation, the Conrad Hilton Foundation and Oxfam America. In the report they completed, these groups state that Americans rank 42nd among developed countries for life expecentancy, even though we spend more money per person on healthcare than any other country in the world.
It would seem that our healthcare dollar isn't quite stretching as far as those other 41 countries, wouldn't it?
From BBC:
Americans live shorter lives than citizens of almost every other developed nation, according to a report from several US charities.
The report found that the US ranked 42nd in the world for life expectancy despite spending more on health care per person than any other country.
Overall, the American Human Development Report ranked the world's richest country 12th for human development.

Hey Congress? You could do this TOO you know
Sun Jul 13, 2008 at 06:57:58 AM PDT
Standing up to President Bush and his administration, the Iraqi Government did not give into pressure to sign the Security Agreement that BushCo had been trying to force upon them. This "Status-Of-Forces" agreement was being pushed hard by the Bush Administraion before they left office next January, as Bush and his cronies wanted to make absolutely sure they had tied the hands of the next Administration when it came to the troops in Iraq question.
Unlike our Congress, Prime Minister Nouri al-Malaki has learned to say "NO" to President Bush and has bucked the whole Bush Regime just recently when al-Malaki stated that it was getting close to time for all Foreign troops to leave his country.
Of course, as soon as he stated this, the Bush Administration bumper sticker motto of "When they stand up, we will stand down" became "We aren't standing down, thar's OIL in them thar sands," or something to that effect.
G8 Leaders Face A Series of Crises
Sun Jul 06, 2008 at 11:33:19 AM PDT
Let's pretend for a moment that you are a country. Well, the seminal head of a country, so to speak.
As the mouthpiece and the conveyor of all information that the people of YOUR country would like YOU to communicate to the rest of the world, your mission (should you choose to accept it) is to make sure you truly speak for your fellow countrymen and countrywomen with one voice that soars the virtues of YOUR country and it's ideals and passions!
OK, Hold that thought.

Why is Polar Ice melting? Fox News knows Answer!
Thu Jul 03, 2008 at 07:17:27 AM PDT
No, Virginia. There is no global warming!
Do you know how I know this, Virginia? Because those well known and highly decorated Scientists, Rush Limpbaugh,PhV (Physician, Viagara), Sean Hannity,WnGnT (Wingnut), and Neal Boortz, LnC (Libertarian Nutcase) have told me in no uncertain terms that it is SO.
Who, in their Right(wing) Mind could possibly have the expertise in this field to actually stand up to these "Keepers of the Truth and the American Way" and offer a different opinion?
Certainly not Fox News! That bastion of the Fair and Balanced coverage of all things great and small would never give in to the temptation to try their hand at discouraging their viewers from not believing any single word uttered by the above mentioned "brilliant scientists of hate radio."
In fact, Fox News has their very own theory that they pulled directly out of their collective asses regarding why global warming is not the cause for the melting of Planet Earth's Arctic ice.
Let's see what they have to say on this issue, below.
Taking A Stand: Sgt. Matthis Chiroux
Tue Jun 17, 2008 at 05:56:22 AM PDT
Warning: Run on sentence ahead
Do you know how much courage it takes to join the military after the events of September 11, 2001 have affected you and your patriotic feelings to HELP any way you can the country you love, then ship out to Iraq, work your way to the rank of Sergeant, find out that both yourself and your comrades in arms come to learn that this war you are fighting with your life on the line to be nothing more than contrived BullShit, then come home (thankfully not in a coffin that Americans can't see on TV) and then be told you have to go back?
I sure as hell don't! I have absolutely NO Friggin' Idea what that would be like.
Electoral Votes - What side of the Aisle will YOUR State land?
Sun Jun 08, 2008 at 05:36:01 AM PDT
Senator's Barack Obama and John McCain are working overtime to change the Electoral Map of our country in an effort to win over States that have been recently voting either Democratic or Republic in our current 2008 Presidential Election.
Both Presidential Candidates are in serious need of changing the Electoral Map, as the polls are showing possible pick-up's in States that have traditionally voted for one party or the other during a Presidential election.

9/11 Trials underway. Will we learn anything?
Thu Jun 05, 2008 at 10:39:32 AM PDT
The trials for some of the alleged masterminds of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentegon as well as others who allegedly helped to fund or participate in the 9/11 attacks are soon to be held and overseen by a US military commission at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
The question I would like answered up front is whether we will get to hear the defendents statements during these trials, or will the also alleged torture that was committed on their persons during the interrogation of these defendents cause the Military Brass and the Bush Administration to go into full secrecy mode as to not allow the world to hear what these prisoners have to say in their defense. Of course we all know that the "interrogation methods" will not be allowed to be spoken of during the trials.
